Panels

The original painting of this image is at Art on Depot.  Cathey suggested I try a pair.  I’ve used the streaming enamel paint that I’ve been using recently for the stems.  These are acrylics, the original is oil on paper.   I did it in SA  1991 or 1992.  I like the looseness of these new ones.  Blanket Flowers are a native wildflower in Texas.5-16-13a5-16-13b

Whole Bloomin’ Thing

Dash between the raindrops tomorrow, to Frog Level.  My booth will be in front of Art on Depot, or inside, if it’s pouring.  I have lots of new and “affordable”( never say cheap!) original art pieces.  3-25-13a

Whole Bloomin’ Thing is Sat.

Do you have a spot for a round piece of art.  Check out my abstract Dahlia.  Or how about a salamander.  My booth will be in front of Art on Depot.  I’ve made a deal with my brother in TX.  Sat. he gets the rain and I get the sun!5-5-135-5-13a

Thanks Nick

I  went to the opening of Nick DePaolo’s one man show at Gallery 86 in Waynesville, NC on Fri.  We both are learning to paint more in acrylics.  Long discussion on how to get the paint to run.  I experimented today.  Too much medium, I think.  It’s sooo easy with oils, but my propane heater makes oils a no no, til summer.  The flower is a serius, a bold bloom about 8″ across.2-25-13

Human refinements on Nature

I continue exploring what impact humans have over nature.  This flower was made of dripped enamel, blue, then collage and drawing elements added.  I could copyright it, patent it, and claim that I made a better flower.  International agro businesses do it every day.2-13-13

New Improved Blue Flowers

I’m doing a series that comment on genetically modified or other human messing with nature.  The flowers are dripped lines of blue enamel.  Other enhancements such as collage and color are showing up.  So far these are on cardstock, so are 8 1/2 x 11.

Halloween horror

We got between 12″ and 14″ of snow, from the storm that hit W.Va.  But the town nearest us, just got a dusting.  A neighbor at a higher elev. got 22″.  Our tractor won’t move, even with chains on.  Thank goodness the sun came out.  Tomorrow Gregg has to go to work, even if he has to walk the 1/2 mile to the road.  He walked up Mon. night at midnight.  I’m not complaining, but life in 10-31-1210-31-12athe 47% is hard.

Color addict

I’ve been doing a different kind of work with the Modern Muses.  They are more assemblage.  I needed a color fix!.7-25-12

Pileated woodpecker

It’s out of focus, but I didn’t want to scare her off.  She’s exploring our split rail fence for goodies.   They say that in 2050 most people will live in cities.  Good!  Leave more room for her and me.5-17-12
