A friend brought us plenty of firewood to get through the winter while Gregg was awaiting hip replacement surgery. An unexpected gesture, a godsend.

Painting as I see it.

I made this in 2020. It’s on it’s way to it’s new home in New Hampshire. Thanks, Jill and Chip
Forrest and Gregg have helped me update my website. Check it out. My bad, no blog posts for too long. I have been working. Here are a few pieces that you may not have seen. Echoes Encore is 17″x108″. I have posted half here. Next is photo of me with work in progress. Verdant is 46″x54″. Spring and summer garden.
Karen gave me some bulbs of the Susana Lily. It is brown with orange highlights. I used to paint a lot of flowers. I think this is not the same old thing.
My kids and husband don’t need it, but I still do some mothering.
This is a painting. I am pulling colors and energy from around me. I’ve been striving with this one for months.
A clue from a crossword puzzle that we were doing. The answer is sudden. I don’t know if the COVID virus qualifies, but it feels like it. To balance out the craziness I am using a weed in a field near my home. It is not stressed out.
Gregg’s mother regularly supports our art work. When I told her about a sale on canvas, she sent a check! We got a 30 yard roll for half price. Gregg has made the stretchers from ripping 2×4’s. The pancake compressor drives the stapler. He’s made 4 stretchers, so far, and stretched 2 today. They are 41″x54″. The canvas is 60″wide and we cut a four foot piece. As you can see we need some to pull around the back. The pliers are a specialty. We don’t remember when he made the first canvas for me, but it could have been 47 years ago. Just for comparison a ready made 16″x20″ stretched canvas sells for $10. I still have to gesso (prime) them, but we save a lot of money doing it ourselves.
Thanks Donna, for your encouragement and support!
So much pollen this spring!
I started this last summer. I used silver Sharpie to highlight storm clouds, but it bothered me. I added more paint.
