Christmas spirals?
I struggled w/ spirals all winter, and wasn’t wowed, except for the one the eagle eyed Mr. Mills picked up. If I want Christmas cards, I have to start now, and this is one. It’s sharpie on paper. Once I decide on the image, I will make a painting, so it will look quite different.

More paint. It’s getting a little muddy, but I think I can brighten it when it dries some.

Ringing in his ears
The scar is where he had the brain tumor removed. It was benign, but it didn’t stop the ringing in his ears. Hearing aids helped the tinninitis and now the tumor won’t grow into a problem. He titled this portrait 
“Zipperhead”.
lighten up
I took this image from a collage. Theses panels have been “percolating” all winter. When I looked at them I realized that the dark areas were too dark. The other problem was that the paint was too segregated. I like to interrupt the surface and drag paint to an area were it doesn’t belong.
Recycled
This is a big piece of canvas, about 7’x13′. I started working on it in ’97 after the death of my parents. We’ve hauled it around ever since. I thought of it for “The Good Wreck”. It is challenging to integrate a new painting on top of an old one, and it may fail, but I’ll never know unless I try.
Round and round
Another spiral.
Insurance companies. Bless their hearts. They won’t pay for the damages to the fence. I’m worried that by the time we cover hospital expenses and damages there won’t be any money to replace my car. Oh well, at least I’m not trying to replace my husband!
Changes
Little did I know when I started thinking of these spirals as “Changes” how prescient that was. Gregg’s crash certainly has changed our lives. We are thankful that no other cars or people were involved.

I have a book about Lee Krasner. She had an artist’s career before and after Pollock. But would anyone have known her if she hadn’t married him? How many women artists can you name?
