This is one of five of my paintings on show at the Haywood County Arts Council Small Works Show, thru Dec. There are many artists represented. Which one is your favorite?
Series of paintings
My ITP went kaboom last Tues. and landed me in the hospital, again. As we try to get a handle on the malady, I am trying to understand it through paintings. There are three elements that I’m going to focus on. Platelets (that may or may not look like pickles), Antibodies, and my Immune Response ( IR). Short explanation of the problem is that my IR detects antibodies on my platelets, and throws out everything! Normal platelet level is 300,000. Last Wed. mine were down to 6,000. Bleeding is a big concern! This is not a medical illustration, but a learning journey.
Haywood County Studio Tour Tomorrow
Do some leaf peeping on your way out to my studio. Deb Parmele will also be showing in my studio, so you’ll get to see two different artists.
GMO Giraffe, they’re looking for a way to package you nice and neatly.
HCAC Members Show
We missed the opening of the Members Show, due to car trouble. Ugh! But made it by there today, 86 N. Main, Waynesville. Very interesting work. This piece which is my rant against NC House Bill 2 sold on opening night!
Small landscape on paper
Not all of my landscapes are about the sickening environment. This is of the hill outside my studio.
Difficult landscape
The landscape of NC is kinda rough these days.
Landscapes
Here are two paintings, depicting the landscape of NC. Lately, it’s not lovely.
NC Landscape
The state legislature of North Carolina has shoved a lot of offensive legislation down our throats. Forget jobs and education! Most paintings of the NC landscape show the natural beauty. This painting is not. Named for the toxic NCHB2, I am disgusted.
Monarch Gathering
This is a painting, and the painting issues have been more troublesome on this one. No Photoshop to fix this one!
Fallen leaves
Even though I call this one Dandelion, the fallen red oak leaf is there. It’s that season, again. This is on display at the Haywood County Arts Council Gallery, as part of the Haywood Open Studios tour. Come out into the country to see my studio on Fri. Oct. 23 or Sat. Oct. 24, 10-5. Driving directions are on my website, or on the Tour Maps, available in Waynesville.
