Hats

The Fine Ladies “made” their hats for an afternoon tea.  This is a painting, not a portrait of a lady or a hat.  I’m still struggling with acrylics.  Here’s a chapter of that struggle.12-10-12

Muse of Democracy

I’m not sure what the job of my 21st century muses is, but everybody’s getting new titles and job descriptions.  The board is round.  Democracy is hard work.6-11-12

Freedom

I had a painting that I felt obligated too.  Today it disappeared under this one.  Too early to tell, but I’m glad the other one is gone.5-23-12

Mucking with nature

A farmer is the only business person that you interact with three times a day.  Giant agro companies force farmers to buy their trade- marked seeds.  Here are some ideas of what is pushing the idea very far, in a scary way.5-9-125-9-12a

fall show

I don’t have an axe to grind, at the moment.  I’m in a group show in Sept.  We picked an open-ended title “Pierce the Mundane”.  We all work in different media, and want a broad umbrella.  I’ve been working on these oak leaves which seem mundane. 4-16-12

troubles

We “updated our browser”.  Now things don’t work as I expect.  We shall see how this post goes.  I’m starting to like acrylics, a lot.  This beginning of oak leaves may have additions and corrections.4-9-12

April Showers

I started on this in March, an observation of the coming of spring.  With the storms of late, the dark block in the upper left is a reference to a QR code, or a thunderstorm.April Showers

April Showers

Even tho it isn’t April yet, the drips on this panel made me think of showers.  The blocks interrupt the flow of the paint.  Humans aren’t very successful at controlling nature, especially the weather.April Showers
