I’m not sure what the job of my 21st century muses is, but everybody’s getting new titles and job descriptions. The board is round. Democracy is hard work.
Piercing the botanic
I’m pushing this one.
Freedom
I had a painting that I felt obligated too. Today it disappeared under this one. Too early to tell, but I’m glad the other one is gone.
Pileated woodpecker
It’s out of focus, but I didn’t want to scare her off. She’s exploring our split rail fence for goodies. They say that in 2050 most people will live in cities. Good! Leave more room for her and me.
Mucking with nature
A farmer is the only business person that you interact with three times a day. Giant agro companies force farmers to buy their trade- marked seeds. Here are some ideas of what is pushing the idea very far, in a scary way.
Too pretty
The painting is pretty, too pretty, but not very interesting. So far the additions are temporary, but I’m going to make them permanent. Haven’t thought of a title yet. Digital hostas?
is nature enough?
The music and publishing industries have been forced to change because of the digital age. Is painting …old school?
paint or color
Just layin’ em down, one foot in front of the other.
Mundane
These oak leaves are progressing.
fall show
I don’t have an axe to grind, at the moment. I’m in a group show in Sept. We picked an open-ended title “Pierce the Mundane”. We all work in different media, and want a broad umbrella. I’ve been working on these oak leaves which seem mundane.
