Painting as I see it.
When Forrest was making salsa at my house, I showed him my Eye Wonder series. He suggested we make a You-tube video of the process. I love the idea and Gregg’s background is in film. We want to show the process of making art and a video.
Cori Saraceni suggested the detail picture. I have such great supporters for my art!
Forrest and Jen are having their wedding ceremony/ celebration today. They got married at the courthouse Thur. Now they have the same wedding anniv. as her parents, and Gregg and I, July 11. He celebrated my BD by making salsa for the rehearsal dinner at my house. No one in history has ever seen a serious pic of Forrest!
It’s been raining since 10 am. These little branches (official designation) have become certified creeks.
My sons, who were very close growing up, do not speak. It breaks my heart. I have done a series of paintings, of eyes, whether going in or out of my soul, I cannot say. Vacancy where there was love?
Here’s one with a detail.
I had a wonderful time yesterday visiting Cori Saraceni in her studio. We sparked ideas off of each other. She was frustrated that I don’t show details of my work. I had never thought of it! So this is “Hurricane Sandy” and the detail is her mouth. This piece is collage on plywood. The perfectly round high grade plywood is being sold by the Waynesville, NC, 
Habitat Restore.
I accepted this commission with reservations. The ceramic frog was a gift, and it needs a setting. The lily pad was a fun time to play with paint.
Yesterday, by happenstance, an artist visited my studio. He liked this self portrait with small mirrors.
This series is called Eye Wonder. All of them are done on 8″x10″ paper. The enamel paint makes a pattern of eyes or glasses, nose, lips, and wrinkles! The each one is developed through as many processes and layers as I can think of. The words are mostly random, leaving room for you to interpret what is going on with this individual, at this time. Everything stays on the web forever, so I probably shouldn’t show experimental pieces, but masterpieces. ‘Speriment is the only flavor that I have.
I am not studying eyes, obviously. They are a symbol, a holder of emotions. Is anger pink and greed black? Does Mr. Potato Head have his angry eyes?
I have pushed my series “Eye Wonder” . Now I am adding collage and words to the dripped/streamed paintings.
