All summer there were floods. This is one of five paintings in the Small Works Show.

Painting as I see it.
All summer there were floods. This is one of five paintings in the Small Works Show.
Some paintings I struggle with. This one came fast and furious.
This is one of five of my paintings on show at the Haywood County Arts Council Small Works Show, thru Dec. There are many artists represented. Which one is your favorite?
My ITP went kaboom last Tues. and landed me in the hospital, again. As we try to get a handle on the malady, I am trying to understand it through paintings. There are three elements that I’m going to focus on. Platelets (that may or may not look like pickles), Antibodies, and my Immune Response ( IR). Short explanation of the problem is that my IR detects antibodies on my platelets, and throws out everything! Normal platelet level is 300,000. Last Wed. mine were down to 6,000. Bleeding is a big concern! This is not a medical illustration, but a learning journey.
Do some leaf peeping on your way out to my studio. Deb Parmele will also be showing in my studio, so you’ll get to see two different artists.
GMO Giraffe, they’re looking for a way to package you nice and neatly.
Fri & Sat. is the Haywood Artists Studio Tour. I will be showing my new work, which shares the theme of our environment under siege fro 10-5 each day.
On Sat. the newly RENOVATED Auditorium will be host to the Halloween Carnival from 5 to 10 p.m. I’m in the gym, the carnival is in the brick school building, and supper is in the cafeteria. Come see the exciting new things at the Fines Creek Community Center!
Getting ready for the Studio Tour. This year Deb Parmele, jeweler, will be showing with me. Good time to take a drive out into the country! The cubbies before, and after Gregg made sliding doors for them. THANKS, GREGG!
New painting at Art on Depot.
We are displaying more of our work in the studio. Clocks is one area we both dabble in. As we were reorganizing the space we had a visitor. She stayed on the thermometer all Saturday morning.
We missed the opening of the Members Show, due to car trouble. Ugh! But made it by there today, 86 N. Main, Waynesville. Very interesting work. This piece which is my rant against NC House Bill 2 sold on opening night!
