Charlotte recommended that to be a serious artist, I needed a serious studio space. This is an old classroom, 20’x30′ with hardwood floors and four windows that are eight feet high. In the winter, my Tai Chi class meet in my studio. The advice was incredible! Here’s my left leg, and class.
Terrified woman
A Gorgon is a terrifying woman. This one earns seventy seven cents on a dollar that a male makes. The gas pump does not ask if you are male or female. The grocery doesn’t either.
WordPress hates people on dial up. You won’t see the pic, thanks to them. PLUUUGH! The phone company hates people that don’t live in cities. Everybody hates me, nobody likes me, worms, worms, worms.
custody battle
I have two computers that I post from. They are jealous and fight over custody of my posts all of the time. Computers are bad parents.
Pileated woodpecker
It’s out of focus, but I didn’t want to scare her off. She’s exploring our split rail fence for goodies. They say that in 2050 most people will live in cities. Good! Leave more room for her and me.
Tea in the gallery
The Fine Ladies will host an afternoon Tea on Saturday in the Sleeping Stones Gallery. We think it will be a great setting when we get everything done!
Prodigal cat
She’s been walkabout.
Drawing
I’m annoyed with the gridlock in D.C. They’ll bicker, and never get anything done. This figure represents a quote I heard from a young mother. She said “We’re okay as long as nothing bad happens.” How long can we walk a tightrope with no jobs and the Tea Party fanatically dismantling the social safety net?
Unease
I added the center panel today. sorry the photo’s blurry.
TMI
I’ve been doing a series of drawings, well I call them drawings. There’s acrylic washes, writing, and collage, along w/ the drawing so maybe they are ‘mixed media”. Whatever. I use the oval face of a woman wearing a skull cap as the starting point to investigate the stresses on women, and lately stresses from the world news. I kept honing in, showing the stress on the cap, then a partial face, and finally just in the eye. The media is making me worry about women in Arab countries, or Japan, or now, Alabama. I feel there pain, but I also need to step back. This is called” Too Much Information.”

How does your garden grow?
This rock sticks out of my garden. The blue LED lights don’t mind the snow. The mermaid fountain to the left is filled w/ snow. We’re being snowed in for the third time this year.
