I had left the “floor” unpainted, but decided it was tooooo white. Also the red sleeve by her head was a problem, and the white space behind her head. Most importantly, does she look hopeful?

I’ve come to a strange connection between the Talisman series and the Hoping series. I call it the Blessings of NOT, those things that did NOT happen to you, yet. Some call it fate but I’m pretty sure that if you hold your tongue just right, you can see everything as a blessing. George Baselitz asked who got to say that the sky in a PAINTING had to be at the top. These are paintings, people, not doctrine.
Nothing new under the sun
I had the brilliant idea of slicing the face longitudinally, to emphasize a fracture. Here’s my attempt. Gregg checked out a book from the library on Georg Baselitz. Fudge, he’s already done fracture. Oh, well, I still think it’s an idea worth persuing.
Friday is the opening at Art on Depot. I know Cathey’s interested in the barn paintings. I wonder if she will show a figure?
